Half a year

It definitely doesn't feel like it's been half a year since our lives changed drastically with the introduction of the most perfect little girl, but here we are...six months fast forwarded.

Emma definitely brings an extra dose of craziness into our life but I wouldn't have it any other way! She is getting more and more fun every day! She's started trying to sit up by herself, she's finding new noises daily, and she is such a happy kid (most of the time)! It's hard to remember what we did with ourselves before her.

No teeth yet but at this point, I won't be surprised if we have to wait another month before we see them emerge. She still drools like crazy and her diapers are worse than ever (probly due to the formula as much as teething). Her sleeping habits have returned, thank goodness! She's still averaging about 10 1/2 hours and every now and then will go 11 hours if she's really tired. I've learned the hard way, though, that if she's too tired, she doesn't sleep well at all, which translates into mom and dad not sleeping. It's funny how kids work that way...if I was super tired, I would just sleep extra hard and extra long, but she insists on waking up every hour or two until it's time to start another day and we're all deliriously tired.

We're closing in on our first holiday season with Emma and I'm so excited to start new traditions and see what she thinks about big family gatherings and Christmas presents! She will definitely be spoiled rotten but what first grandchild isn't? :)

Rory had a great time this past week getting to go to another Tennessee football practice with his dad. Emma and I missed seeing the family but we'll be trying to get up there soon to visit. Rory's dad starts chemo on Monday so we're anxious to see how these treatments will help. We're praying for many more visits and holidays with Pappy in the future! Please pray with us that everything will start well and he'll respond to the chemo perfectly!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and first weekend of October! War Eagle!

God bless!
