Mid-Week Update
So if you're not on FB, you won't know yet, but it is in the books now! Miss E will be here kicking and screaming on April 7th, if she doesn't decide before then to start cooperating ; ) Rory's response to the date? "Oh yes! I'll be able to watch the Masters from home now!"
We had our growth check today and she has actually moved up a weight class (sounds like some wrestling thing lol) and is currently 4 lbs 10 oz. The tech predicted she'll weigh between 5 and 6 lbs at birth....so just further confirmation that she'll be a petite thing : ) We also got repeated confirmation that she will be nowhere near bald! I told Rory to prepare himself for the onslaught of bows because there will be a plethora of bows coming from her Reesee, Momo, and KK for sure! We've got a good combination of "Rory-approved" bows and "Piper" bows so we'll see what happens : )
The tech assured us everything looked good on her scan and her blood flow is still excellent. Her NST was also good and the doctor didn't seem concerned about anything. She then flowed right on into the c-section discussion with her opinion that she really didn't think E was going to turn at this point. She said there's always a possibility but it's pretty unlikely at this point. So she penciled us in for the morning of April 7th! I think it got real for Rory at that point because he looked at the calender and realized that's 3 weeks from Monday!!! It got real for me too when I started to think about it.....Just look at that adorable button nose!
We still have a good bit left to do but at least this gives us a time table that we can use to measure what needs to get done when. Her nursery is coming along but it still looks like an explosion of gift bags at the moment. I've washed all her towels and wash cloths, her blankets, and her burp clothes and bibs. Tonight will be the clothes and then we'll be ready to pack the hospital bag! Even though we have a scheduled date to go in, I don't want to assume that something won't happen until then so better to be prepared now : ) We still have to get a mattress and changing pad but we plan on rounding out the rest of the essentials this weekend and then it will just be getting everything set! It's so close!
I'm so ready to meet her now! She's been moving like crazy even though she doesn't have much room. I feel bad but I get joy out of seeing Rory's reaction now when he sees her push across my belly ; ) I just laugh hysterically and make a mental note that he's racking up diaper changes with every disgusted look he gives! Oh yes, I'm playing that card!
So, Lord willing, three weeks from Monday, Rory and I will be parents! Get ready for your FB news feed to fill up with pictures from all of Emma's adoring fans that will come visit, not to mention the million pics that Rory and I will be taking from our iPhones : ) Feel free to come visit yourself if you're in the neighborhood of Brookwood Hospital on the 7th or 8th : )
God Bless!
